This is my first blog of the year for 2017 and though it may seem like it’s a little late..I assure it is all about good timing. So firstly, I wish you ‘Happy new beginnings’ this year as the new lunar year beckons!
Every new year ushers with it fresh new energy. By now you will have made some new years resolutions, goals and may have started to work towards them. Or you might be hoping that life will get better for you by doing the same thing. I assure you positive lasting change does not happen like that. Trust me I know.
This is going to be an extremely good year because we have plenty of tips for you in the K’s community blogs and videos. We hope to greatly empower you as you learn and apply new things and go from good to great – from the inside out! Your health is of vital importance to enjoying a good life and the better you feel the more energy you’ll have. We possess a mind/body connection (meaning wherever our mind goes the body follows) and our well-being depends on maintaining a balance particularly in 3 core areas of life: our health, finances and relationships.
What does this have to do with fitness? Everything, because well-being is about balance. Get one in balance and others will begin to follow suit.
The good news is is that there are 2 powerful actions steps you can have at your disposal this year that will empower you and remind you when you feel like you’re out of balance and they are to focus and be consistent.
When you know what matters to you most eg. your health, finances or relationships, then you know where you need to apply more love in that particular area. It might even be all 3!!
If it’s relationships, then you need to be more loving and nurturing towards yourself, stop berating yourself for getting it wrong in the past and start appreciating yourself now and accept and acknowledge yourself for all your strengths. The universe will bring you others who will want to cherish you for being the ‘real’ you and your relationships will greatly improve when you honor yourself.
If it’s finances then it’s time to get organized. Get your affairs in good order, spreadsheets, taxes and get clear on what you have or what you may owe then pay it down asap. Be open to new opportunities, but keep yourself in balance no matter what, or you’ll be the one who suffers until you return to balance again which can take some time. Maybe it’s time to get a new job or switch things up? Learn to say ‘no’ and honor your top priorities which is namely ‘keeping yourself in balance!’ This is self empowerment and improves your self-esteem and is self-value in action. And the better you get, the better everything else gets.
Lastly, your health. Your health and fitness is all about balance too. Eat well, stretch, drink plenty of clean water, enjoy working out and get plenty of good rest too. I believe that as long as you are moving your body and enjoying your workouts then you are doing it right. When you are enjoying your body and working out you begin to release positive feel good endorphins and your body will be drawn to these “feel good” feelings.
Keeping your body in balance is the key to vitality and that is also adopting a good attitude and mindset. A good mood or attitude is one that is cultivated – you’re not just given one, you have to practice. Remember earlier we spoke about “wherever the mind goes the body will follow” that is what having focus is all about. Focus on what you want, feel it as if you are already there and take inspired action. Every day in some way work towards your goal with any action you can that will move you in the direction of feeling better. Place pictures of your end results/goals around you, something that feels uplifting to you. Place yourself in the picture! Most people don’t focus and get wishy washy results and blame it on external circumstances. The people who are celebrated are the ones who are focused and have steadied their belief in themselves and abilities such as athletes, businessmen and movie stars etc. With laser focus comes a sense of motion forwards and as long as you remain consistent you will gather momentum. Feeling happy now in the process is the mindset to adopt. Never give up, never quit or give in. If you fall off the horse, dust yourself off, tomorrow’s another day. Remember you deserve it and it’s your time to shine, give yourself that much – because you can do it!!!
